Mysuru: In a heart-rending incident a woman shed tears before Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday, April 22, narrating her hard luck story of having gone to a hospital to find solution to her stomach and back ache problems, but instead ended up losing her uterus.

During the CM’s visit to Mysuru on Friday, Nanjamma (37), waylaid him and told the CM that on December 15, 2015, she had gone to Sri Nidhi Clinic in the city to get treatment to her persistent lower abdominal and back ache problems.

The owners of the hospital, a doctor couple stated that she would have to immediately undergo an operation, failing which she may die.

After taking Rs 30,000 from her, the doctors operated her and removed her uterus, without her consent, she complained.

It is only when her post-operation pain continued and she decided to take a second opinion that she was told that her uterus was removed.

Shell-shocked, the lady went to Sri Nidhi clinic to confront the doctor couple, who, this time got her thrown out of the hospital.

Reportedly, when the lady went to Saraswathipuram police station to lodge a complaint against the doctor couple, the police got her to the hospital to settled the issue at Rs 50,000.

The lady has now filed a case with Consumer’s Court so as to teach such doctors a lesson.

Clearly stating that she does not want any money or negotiation, she urged the CM to take action to bring such greedy doctors to book so that gullible, vulnerable and illiterate rural people are not taken for ride.
