Mysore : Two former chief ministers BS Yeddyurappa and HD Kumaraswamy sprang a major surprise when they were seen being honoured with a single garland during a function in the city.
The relationship between the two leaders had soured after HDK who served as chief minister as per the 20-20 agreement with the BJP, had refused to let charge to Yeddyurappa.
The two leaders seen together particularly when they had turned arch rivals during the 2008 elections, has also aroused much curiosity. There is also a strong suspicion if the two were putting up a united fight to pose a challenge to CM Siddaramaiah.
Most interesting of all was that BSY unveiled the portrait of JD(S) Supremo HD Deve Gowda and his wife Chennamma at the function as if a hint to a likely alliance between the two parties.
However, speaking on the occasion, Yeddyurappa said there was no need to attach special significance to his sharing the dais with Kumaraswamy. No one is a permanent friend or foe in politics, he added. He also hinted that he would make public any plans to enter into alliance with any party after August.
