Exhibition and sale of silk handloom fabrics from July 20 to 25 in Mysuru

Mysuru: As part of the Varamalakshmi festival, Hastashilpi will organize a six-day silk fabric mela, ‘Silk India – 2016’ at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry from July 20 to 25.

T Abhinand, organiser of the event said, “It will be a platform for the producer to directly sell their products directly to the consumers without the involvement of middlemen. Various Silk Saree Weavers, Handloom Clusters and Silk Co-operative Societies will showcase their products in the exposition. The intention of the event is to make the products of the weavers and artisans, accessible for the customers, without the interference of middlemen.

“In the expo, one can come across almost all varieties of silk sarees including Arini Silk Sarees, Crepe and Georgette Silk Saree, Chiffon Silk Sarees, Tassar silk sarees and suit, Kanjeevaram Silk Sarees, designer fancy Sarees, Darmavaram Silk Sarees, Raw Silk & Tassar, Jute Silk Sarees, Dhaka Silk Sarees, Handloom Silk Cotton Sarees, Silk Blends Sarees and Stole, Silk Shawls, Uppada, Gadwal, Paithani Sarees, Mangalagiri, Pochampalli Silk Sarees and many more products,” said Abhinand.

Apart from silk sarees during the six-day expo, Silk Bed Covers, Designer dress materials & Border, Lazes, Kurtis, Hand Woven Matka and Assam Muga Fabrics, Apoorva Silk Sarees, Baluchari, Dhaka Masli, Gicha Saris, Boutique Sarees, Kantha Saris, Zordoshi, Lucknow Chikan Work Sarees, Bhagalpur suits, Printed Silk Sarees, Banarasi Sarees, Reshmi plain and Butti saris, Maheswari, Chanderi Silk Sarees & Suit and Kota silk, Mulberry silk with temple border, Banaras Jamdani, Hand-woven sarees will be on display. There is discount on some selected sarees. The expo will be opened for public from 10.30am to 8.30pm.
