Mysuru: An elusive leopard, which had created scare among the villagers for over a month, was finally trapped at Kiralu village in Varuna Hobli of the taluk late last night on Friday November 7.
Scared by the loss of cattle, Kiralu villagers had complained to the Forest Department officials, following which a trap was placed at the farmland of one Basappa in the village, with a dog as bait.
The female leopard, said to be one-and-a-half-year-old, reportedly got trapped late last night.
The villagers, who noticed the leopard in the trap early morning, informed the matter to Forest Department officials, who rushed to the spot and shifted her to ‘Aranya Bhavan’ to check her health condition.
