Mysuru: Dr Kum Veerabadrappa, Central Sahitya Academy and Nrupatunga Award winner said Kumbara community also should get reservation like other communities.

He was speaking at Kalamandira as part of ‘Sarvajna Jayanti’ celebrations jointly organised by the District Administration, Kannada and Culture Department, Mysore District Kumbara Associations and Sarvajna Jayanthotsava Samithi

According to the report of Dr Chidananda Murthy, in 16th century Kumbara community was boycotted at H D Kote. Kumbara community has failed to come to main stream in the society, they are backward politically, economically and uneducated too, he said.

Kumbara community has contributed a lot at to the society. The civilization was started from the same community in Harappa and Mahenjodaro and there are proofs in this regard.

He also said, now the upper class community is claiming that Sarvajna belongs to Brahmin community which is meaningless.

Earlier Revenue and District In charge Minister V Srinivas Prasad said people started to fix  jobs based on their caste, this should be stopped in the society. People should be broad minded.

The Sarvajna’s during 16 century have fought against caste system in society but till today their dream has not come true.
