Narasipura : A 20 year old woman allegedly committed suicide here at Megadahalli village.

The deceased has been identified as Mahalaxmi/Roja(20), daughter of Chikkamadayya and Nagamma, residents of Nanjegowdanadoddi village in Malavalli taluk.

Roja was married to Ramesh, son of Rachayya and Chandramma residents of Megadahalli.

During the wedding 5 grams of gold and 20,000 cash was given to the groom. Thereafter they lived happily for two years in Bangalore.

Later Ramesh had moved to his native place. Her In laws forced her to bring more dowry citing the reason that she is not been able to bring children into the family. She then went to her mothers house till she was able to collect the required amount for the dowry demanded.

Three months back she had given 30,000 cash to her in laws and again in laws had tortured her on this same matter.

The Parents of the Roja filed a complaint with the police that she might have committed suicide due to the pressure of in laws.

City police have registered a case in this regard. Post mortem has been done and the body has been handed over to the family.

Search is on for Ramesh and his parents who are absconding.
