Mysore: The city unit of Indian Medical Association staged a peaceful protest wearing black strips here on Friday June 21, condemning the recurring assault on doctors.
JSS Medical College principal Dr Basavana Gowda offered motion for the peaceful rally that began from J K Maidan, here on Friday morning.
Addressing the protesters, Indian Medical Association – city unit president Dr C Sharat Kumar said that its the foremost duty of each doctor to save the patients life. A doctor will never neglect his duty. Meanwhile, one should not hold the doctors for the death of a patient and that deserves to be condemned, said Dr Sharat Kumar.
The doctors holding placards held the rally in city passing through Narayan Road, Urs Road and finally concluded at the district headquarter, where the leaders submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner at the occasion.
Indian Medical Association – city unit vice president Dr Suresh Rudrappa, district health officer Dr Male Gowda, Dr Ravi Kumar, Dr Satish including medical students and nurses participated in the protest rally.
