Mysuru: A two day District level sports meet of Karnataka state Government Employees jointly organised by District Administration-Zilla Panchayath, Youth empowerment and sports department  and Karnataka rajya sarkari noukarara sangha was inaugurated by the Revenue and District in charge Minister V Srinivas Prasad here at Chamundi vihar stadium on Monday.

After hoisting the flag, President of ZP Dr B Pushpa Amaranath announced a track suit of worth 1 lakh for the competitors getting selected for state level at the meet.

Speaking at the occasion, MLA Tanvir sait,  said that such sports activities are helpful for the government employees who work under stress. Sports plays it own role and it is helpful  also to lead successful life. “Appointing Physical education teachers at every government school can improve the sports achievement in the country”, he opined.

International Tennis player Nagaraju was felicitated on the occasion. The sports torch light  was handed over to the general secretary of the government employees association Patel Pandu. A calendar of the association was also  released on  the occasion  by MLA Tanvir sait.

District Incharge Minister Srinivas Prasad, Zilla Panchayat President Dr. Pushpa Amarnath,  Honorary President of the central association, Bengaluru and President of the association HK Ramu presided over the programme. Assistant Director of  Youth empowerment and sports department, Mysuru K  Suresh and other office bearers were present on the dais.
