Mysuru: The process of disqualification of C Madesh, corporator of ward no 32, who is undergoing life imprisonment at Hindalga Jail in connection to Hunsur double murder case has finally begun. Regional Commissioner A.M. Kunjappa has served notice to corporator Madesh and is seeking his reply.
Kunjappa issued notice to Madesh on July 16 based on the provision of Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act of 1976 through Mysuru Central Jail Superintendent. Madesh has been given time till August 4 to file his reply for the notice. The further process of his disqualification will be based on his reply. A report will be sent based on his reply to state election commission who will decide his fate, whether to go ahead with the by-elections or not.
Had the corporation authorities acted swiftly, Madesh would have already been disqualified. Due to delay tactics from the corporation officials, his disqualification got delayed. According to official sources, if everything goes accordingly, the disqualification process is expected to be completed in another 15 days’ time.
It can be brought to light that on February 26, Corporator Madesh and his brother Manjunath along with six others had been given life term by the District Court, in connection to an eight-year-old double murder case.
