Differently abled demand suspension of officer for offending them

Members of the Karnataka Rajya Vikalachethanara haagu Viviodhodesha mattu Grameena Punarvasathi Okkoota  staged a protest in front of the DC office on January 27, Monday  demanding suspension of the Director of the  Department of for the Empowerment of the Differently Abled and Senior Citizens.

The protest was also staged to press for the fulfilment of various other demands including minimum wages to the physically handicapped who are employed on honorarium basis in rural handicapped rehabilitation scheme.They also demanded   job security and regularisation of services.

The protestors alleged that Jayavibhavaswami, Director of the Department  for the Empowerment of the Differently Abled and Senior Citizens instead of coming to their aid has offended them by terming the disabled as beggars and a burden on the government. They demanded his suspension and appointment of an able officer in his place.

Devaraj, Honorary President of the Okkoota,  YM Dinesh, its President, Katnalli Hemanth, Vice President, RM Swami, Secretary and others participated in the protest.
