Devotees throng Chamundeshwari Temple on Ashada Shukravara

Mysore : Today July 4(Friday), being the first Friday of Ashada Massa, thousands of devotees are flocking Chamundi Hills to visit Shree Chamundeshwari Temple, offer pooja to the Goddess and invoke her blessings.

Devotees were seen queuing up right  since early hours of Friday. As per the new rule, they park their vehicles  near the Lalith Mahal Helipad and then travel towards the temple in the KSRTC buses.

If some devotees choose to travel by bus, many others prefer to take the steps  and offer their prayers. The poojas which commenced at 5.30 am are continuing and the Goddess is being offered Rudrabhisheka,Panchamrithabhisheka and other rituals.

Several dignitaries too are visiting the temple. Mysore MP Pratap Simha visited the temple early in the morning to offer  his prayers.

As this is the first Ashada Shukravara,  special poojas and Anna Santharpane are arranged in various temples of Goddesses in the city.
