Mysuru: After irregularities came to light in the social welfare department, the deputy director in the social welfare department has been suspended based on a investigative report.
Last month students residing at Maharani’s college hostel had protested alleging that the deputy director was depriving them of basic facilities and food. Immediately the social welfare minister H Anjaneya had visited the hostel and ordered an inquiry after inspecting the premises. Even the Chief Minister had ordered an enquiry at the same time.
An investigation team comprising of officials was sent to assess the nature of irregularities and look into the complaints separately. The investigation report indicted BM Prakash, Deputy Director in the Social welfare department who is also the Joint acting director.
Based on the report Government secretary In-charge has suspended the deputy director with a notification to this effect.
