Ramanagara:The district police prepared a list of 20 persons who are involved in illegal sand mining in the district, while the district administration will release notices of banning the entry of them, said DC V Srirama Reddy.
Addressing the meeting of district sand overseeing Committee held at Deputy Commissioners chamber in Revenue Building, here, Reddy said that in spite of sand mining is fully banned in Ramanagara district; the sand mining is going on unabated that forces the authorities to take strict actions on erred parties, added Reddy.
The police officers were instructed to collect fine of Rs 50,000 from the owners of JCBs that were involved for the first instance of illegal sand mining, Rs 25,000 from tipper and dumper truck owners each, Rs 10,000 from tractor owners each.If the offence is repeated for second time by those people, complaints will be registered under IPC section 379 for illegal sand mining or CRC 107, 109, 110, 113, 115, 117 and 133,instructed Reddy.
The officers from district police force, ZP, excise, forest and agricultural department officers was formed to man 11 check posts that were set up across the district to monitor illegal transport of sand.The group had to check each trucks carrying sand at their limits, allow only bona fide permit holders from other districts and seize the trucks without valid papers, stressed Reddy.
ADC M S Archana, deputy divisional officer Dr Sneha, ZP deputy secretary Lata, mining department deputy director Timmappa, Tahsildar, all circle inspectors of district were present on the occasion.
