DC Shikha row: Marigowda’s bail plea rejected

Mysuru: K Marigowda, close confidant of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who was involved in obstructing Deputy Commissioner C Shikha from discharging her duty was denied bail by VII additional district and session court Judge C Chandrashekar on Tuesday, July 12. Marigowda from the day of the incident is still absconding and police is yet to trace him.

Though Marigowda is very close to Siddaramaiah and usually seen with him, after the incident Siddaramaiah surprisingly said that Marigowda is neither his friend nor associate. The court considering the severity of the incident and implication on the society rejected the bail plea. Marigowda threatened DC Shikha on July 3 when the CM was in Mysuru. An angry Shikha then lodged a complaint in police station.

Public prosecutor Mahantappa in his seven page objection cited 12 reasons why the accused should not be given bail.
