Mysore :Addressing a meeting of officials at her office in city, Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha yesterday instructed the officials of various departments to submit their action plan for this year’s Dasara festivities within three days.
She asked the officials to utilise their experiences from last year and come up with suggestions to improve this year’s festivities as the plans submitted by the Committees had to be cleared by the Executive Committee.
Stating that the Dasara Food Mela organized during last year had elicited good response, Shikha added that there were demands for extension of the duration of the mela.
In view of Chief Minister Siddharamaiah’s directions to make the Mysore Zoo, Chamundi Hill and Mysore Palace ‘Plastic Free Zones’, the DC said that the MCC officials would be entrusted with the task of ensuring cleanliness at all venues where Dasara programmes were being held.
Shikha also asked officials of CESC to hold discussions with Energy Minister D.K.Shivakumar and take suitable steps for illumination of the renowned Mysore Palace and other areas of the city.
Shikha also urged for continuation of the practice of using international students from University of Mysore as volunteers to guide foreign tourists visiting city during Dasara festival.
