Mysuru: Shikha, Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru who was transferred to Bengaluru as the commissioner of social welfare department sprang a surprise by serving tea to her well-wishers on Aug 11 morning as she preferred to unwind before taking charge in her new position. Her transfer was on cards in the aftermath of events surrounding CM’s close aide Marigowda.
However, while the transfer was supposed to have happened after Dasara, the transfer in haste has left many ponder over the reasons that played up behind the scenes.
After handing over the charge to her deputy in the DC office, she preferred to rest for a week before moving to Bengaluru to take charge in the new position. When journalists and well-wishers visited her official residence Jaladarshini at Mysuru, she prepared tea on her own and served it to everyone, taking everyone by surprise.
She downplayed the Marigowda issue and said the transfer was due as she served in the city for over 3 years. Since the case is pending in the court she preferred not to comment further on that.
Native of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh, she is 2004 IAS cadre officer, married to Nagabhusan , DC of Mandya who has been transferred to Food and Civil supplies department in the capital.
Expressing total satisfaction over her three-year-long tenure in cultural city of Mysuru, Shikha said that showering floral petals on the idol of Goddess Chamundeshwari for three years during Dasara festivities were the greatest moments of her life that she will always cherish.
She felt greatly honored as she was allowed to stay in the traditional residence ‘Jaladarshini’ for more than three years where she cherished every moment and those moments will last a life time, she said.
She wanted to share her experience in the social media but withdrew being in official position in the government, she remarked.
It became apparent in her words that she would miss the cultural city in the days to come.
Shikha was in news recently after she fearlessly took on a close aide of the CM named Marigowda who hurled abuses at her publicly.
