Mysuru: With the announcement of time-table for the Gram Panchayat polls, the election model code of conduct has been in force in the district from May 10 to June 7.

To prevent any untoward incidents during the elections and to maintain law and order, Deputy Commissioner C. Shikha, who is also the District Electoral Officer, in a press release has asked people in possession of licenced arms to deposit them at their respective Police Stations.

She has also stated that any persons carrying explosive materials or lethal weapons has been banned in the district during the period.
