Mysore:It was decided to celebrated Kannada Rajyotsav with grandeur on November 1, in the palace city during the meeting of national festivals celebration Committee chaired by Deputy Commissioner DC Shikha.
The district-in-charge minister will hoist the national flag, Kannada flag and also offer puja to Goddess Kannada Bhuvaneshwari during Rajyotsav on November 1 at 9.00am. The officers were instructed to hold the mega procession of portrait of goddess Bhuvaneshwari beginning from Kote Anjaneya Mandir at the palace.The concerned officers had to organize tableaus of ZP, BEMEL, municipal buses, different Kannada organizations and Stree Shakthi self-help-groups to partake in mega procession scheduled on that day, besides to organize shows of different cultural groups, schools and colleges to join in the procession,instructed DC Shikha.
DC Shikha also instructed to illuminate the round abouts and public buiuldings in the city on October 21 and November 1, besides the grand celebration of Kannada Rajyotsav had to be held smoothly without scope for confusions.The Kannada medium students who secured highest marks in Kannada will be honored during the celebrations, said DC Shikha.
The environment authority and municipal officers were instructed to ban the use of plastic Kannada flags as part of Rajyotsav celebrations.The government officers had to compulsorily attend all the programmes on Rajyotsav day.DC Shika also urged the students of schools and colleges, general public to attend the programme in large numbers to make the success of Rajyotsav celebrations.
ADC Naga Nayak,heads of different departments,heads of various Kannada organizations were present on the occasion.
