Dasara tourists, beware of conmen !

Mysore: With commencement of Dasara festival, lakhs of tourists will be visiting the city and could be possibly conned by miscreants with polite behaviour. Hence, the City Police have appealed to the tourists and general public to be extra-cautious of such conmen and follow the under mentioned guidelines:

• Be careful about middlemen who accost tourists and promise to arrange accommodation.

• Always visit Tourist Information Kiosk at bus-stand and railway station to obtain information on hotels.

• Always board a pre-paid auto ensuring the fare metre is intact.

• Refrain from buying tickets from strangers for Dasara programmes and approach the Information Kiosk.

• Avoid eating food with strangers without verifying their credentials.

• Tourists should refrain from consuming liquor alone at strange place.

• Tourists arriving in private vehicles should strictly follow traffic rules to avoid fine.

• Get free treatment for illness at Dasara Health Centres near Zoo, Dasara Expo Grounds and Mysore City Corporation Office or at K.R. Hospital.
