Mysuru: The nine-day Dasara Food Mela will delight foodies which will begin at Scouts and Guides ground from October 1. By just paying Rs 149, one can have 24 varieties of non-veg food. There is a separate arrangement made for vegetarians and non-vegetarians.

Disclosing the deatils to media men , dasara special deputy officer P Shivashankar said,the owners of all 92 stalls have been instructed to maintain quality and hygiene during the mela period .
The public can also look forward to special delicacies of the Mysuru region with thrust on tribal foods like Bamboo Biriyani which was in great demand when first introduced in 2014. The Mysuru Thali is being contemplated to include a variety of food specific to the region and would be made available at a reasonable cost. There will be delicacies from Andhra Pradesh, north and coastal district of Karnataka and Kerala and others.
The event will not only satiate one’s appetite but will have enough food for thought by the way it stresses upon the important aspects of healthy food, hunger free Karnataka, Ksheera Bhagya besides discussions on modern food. The authorities concerned will also be conducting promotional activities to popularise millets and ragi, preparing various culinary items and organic products., apart from cooking and eating competitions. There will be a committee to oversee whether the stall owners are providing quality food at a reasonable rate or not. Every day, the mela will be opened between 8 AM and 10 PM.
