Mysuru: The elephant calf which used to take part in the annual Dasara celebrations died in K Gudi elephant camp when it failed to respond to the delayed treatment.
The elephant calf aged 5 by name Radha was suffering from dysentery since four days. The Elephant calf was shifted from Pilikula to BR hills tiger reserve where K.Gudi elephant training camp is located along with another elephant Prashanth.
Both elephants were part of the annual dasara celebrations last year.
According to BR hills tiger reserve director Lingaraju, the elephant did not respond to treatment after prolonged illness due to dysentery and has died. The exact cause of death will be known after the post mortem report comes out, he said.
