Mysuru: A Head Constable ended life by hanging himself to a tree in the police guest house premises on Thursday. The incident took place right next to the Inspector General Police (South Range)’s residence.

The deceased is Sheshappa (52), a HC with the District Armed Reserve. He was posted at the guest house as ADGP N S Murthy was supposed to arrive at the DG Suite guest house on March 2.

However, at about 3.30 pm, Sheshappa hanged himself and it is now said that Sheshappa was fighting depression. He had reportedly tried to end life one year ago by consuming poison due to marital dispute. After undergoing treatment in the hospital for prolonged period, Sheshappa had returned to duty, but he continued to remain sick.

His wife Bhanumathi and son Yash have said that even they are not aware of the reason behind his drastic step. Nazardbad police have registered a complaint.
