Mysore :The Dalita Sangharsha Samithi has urged the government to ensure effective utilisation of funds meant for the welfare of children hailing from SC ST groups.

Expressing regret over the continuing atrocities on Dalits even 69 years after the nation gained independence,the Samithi has urge the government to take steps towards early disposal of applications submitted to the Social Welfare Department. Also the problems faced by SC ST student hostels must be solved at the earliest, the DSS has demanded in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister.
Hurling a serious allegation that some officials of the District Social Welfare Department were using the services to hired goons to threaten those workers who raised voice against irregularities, the DSS has demanded suitable probe into the same.
The Samithi further demanded a probe into the alleged misuse of funds released to impart training in motor driving for t unemployed Dalits. Another demand was to undertake a fresh prone into the case of suspension of Veerabhadraswamy, principal of Varakodu Morarji Desai School for no reason.
Yet another appeal was to undertake an investigation into the release of advance funds for various works though the projects are incomplete.
