Court grants bail to Sunil Bose in bribery case

Mysuru: Sunil Bose, son of District in-charge Minister H C Mahadevappa, was granted bail in connection with his alleged involvement in a bribery case.

Image result for sunil boseBose appeared before the third district and sessions court on Wednesday. He was granted the bail after he provided a surety and bond worth Rs 1 lakh.

In 2010, the Lokayukta and officials of State Mines and Geology Department conducted a raid on Alphonse, a scientist working in the geology department, while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in the presence of Bose and his supporter Raju. The scientist in his police statement said that he ended up receiving the bribe due to enormous pressure from Bose.

However, Lokayukta police omitted Bose’s name when the FIR was registered. Following this, a complainant Basavaraju questioned the decision. The court issued orders after which Bose was registered as the second accused and his supporter Raju as the third accused while retaining the name of Alphonse, as the first accused.
