Mysuru: Cooperative Minister HS Mahadeva Prasad has been asked by the Gundlupet JMFC court to appear before the Court in person on December 21 for trial on charges of submitting a false affidavit during election. The court issued summons regarding the same.
The charge against Mahadeva Prasad is that he had not declared 3.22 acre he owned at Arepura village in Gundlupet taluk in the affidiavit submitted while contesting for elections in 2013. BJP Leader L Suresh had registered a complaint in November 2013.
Mahadeva Prasad had brought a stay from the High Court in 2016, after the local court issued summons in 2014. The police had not served him summons for two years. The court’s summons has now directed Mahadev Prasad to appear in person before it.
