Mysore :  With vegetable prices sky rocketing, the common man who is already reeling under problems due to soaring prices of essential commodities,  is further hit hard.

Excluding potato and onions, the prices of all other  vegetables have seen an all time high at the Devaraja Market in the city. Though the import of vegetables from the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Kerala  is cited as one reason, another reason that is cited is  the lack of water to  plantations of farmers due to the dried up KRS, Kabini, Harangi and Hemavathi reservoirs. Even the delay in onset of monsoons, has added to the problem.

The price of carrot stands at Rs 70 per kg, while that of beans at Rs 120. Drumsticks are sold at Rs 50 per kg, while tomatoes are priced at Rs 50 per kg. As for the rest cabbage is Rs 60 per kg,  coriander  leaves at Rs 20-Rs 25 per one bunch.
