Mysuru: With rumours over a police constable’s involvement in sand mafia in Vidyaranyapuram police station limits, ACP Malik has taken up the case for investigation.
Two lorries were seized for transporting sand illegally near Vidyaranyapuram crematorium three days back. The drivers managed to escape during the raid. When the police questioned the lorry owners based on lorry registration and RC number, they found out that the lorries were given out on lease.

After reports of a constable’s involvement in sand mafia surfaced, a departmental inquiry has been undertaken. ACP said that in a few days all the information regarding sand mining will be collected and the report will be submitted to the City Police Commissioner B Dayanand.
