Congress should stop proposed padayatra: Min Somashekar

Mysuru: District In-Charge Minister S. T. Somashekar said that the Congress party should stop the proposed  Mekedatu padayatra in the interest of public health.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday Somashekar said that Covid cases are increasing and public health is under the scanner. Covid cases and Omicron cases are increasing rapidly in India and abroad. Hence Congress should understand the crisis and stop Mekedatu padayatra, Somashekar said.

“Right now Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President D. K. Shivakumar and Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah are jobless. Hence they are preparing for the next Assembly elections by taking out a padayatra,” Somashekar added.

“We are ready to follow tough rules, abiding by the warnings of experts’ committee and Central Government’s norms. Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is conducting meeting once in two days and we will not hesitate to impose stricter rules, Somashekar warned.
