Mysuru: In Nanjangud constituency, the voter turnout registered till 9 am was just 6.5 percent. Congress candidate Kalale Keshavamurthy exercised his franchise at polling booth No 119 in Loka Shikshana Kendra at Kalale Gram Panchayat.
To everyone’s surprise, while voting Kalale Keshavarmurthy had sported a Congress shawl which has raised objection from the opposition. According to election code of conduct, no one should show the party symbol within 100mtr radius of where polling is being held. There are 1, 91,594 voters in Nanjangud and 236 polling stations across the taluk.
At Gundlupet constituency, BJP candidate Niranjan Kumar after performing Pooja at Gavi Rudreshwara Temple, along with his family members exercised his franchise at polling booth No 154 in Government Higher Primary School, Choudalli Village while congress candidate Geetha Mahadevaprasad voted at Hallanahalli village. Till 9am, the voting percentage at Gundlupet constituency was just 6.6 percent. Gundlupet has 1, 95,293 electorate and 250 polling booths.
