Mysuru: President of Karnataka State Janata Dal (Secular) HD Kumaraswamy today demanded Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s resignation on the false affidavit submitted to the election commission in 2008 and indicated his plans to take recourse after extracting all relevant information.

Addressing a press conference in Mysuru, he demanded CM Siddramaiah’s immediate resignation on moral grounds. He mocked at the CM’s remarks which branded HDK as hit and run man and a big liar and used the occasion to ridicule the CM on his morality which stands exposed in the false affidavit case.

Justifying his stance he said, “My life is an open book. I had mentioned the pending cases against me and my wife Anita in the Lokayukta courts while submitting information to the election commission before the elections”.

Marigowda can be arrested within 24 hours if the government makes up its mind, but has no intentions to do so as the accused is getting protection directly from CM, he alleged.

He ridiculed Sunil Bose, son of state PWD minister HC Mahadevappa for interfering in Marigowda case and complemented the city DC Shikha for not acknowledging the back door mediation efforts.

Brushing aside allegations against him by CM Siddaramaiah where the CM had said that 24 police personnel had committed suicide during his 20 month regime, HDK said, if proved he will retire from political life.

He concluded by exuding confidence that JDS will return to power in the next elections.

It may be recalled that the Superintendent of Police of Mysuru had said that cases against the present Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Marigowda were closed in 2007. This statement had led to suspicion about the affidavit submitted to EC in 2008 assembly elections, though a few cases were presumably pending that time.
