Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiahand his entire family took part in the 5th day religious ceremony in memory of Rakesh near his burial place on Aug 5 at T.Katur farm on the outskirts of Mysuru.

The ceremony involves pouring milk and ghee on the tomb and placing flowers and food items which were dear to the departed member and praying for his soul. Rakesh’s tomb was cleaned early in the morning, decorated with flowers and other items. It is a religious practice as per Hindu tradition in most parts of Karanataka to remember the dead on the 5th and 11th day after burial.
The CM was accompanied by his wife Parvathi, Son Dr.Yathindra, Daughter in Law Smitha and her young children along with his brothers and many others during the day’s ceremony.
Later, the CM had lunch with all family members and discussed the plans for the 11th day ceremony in advance.
It may be recalled, Rakesh, son of state chief minister Siddaramiah died in Belgium on July 30 due to multi organ failure after he fell ill. His body was brought back from Belgium by CM and his family members on August 1 and later buried at the farmhouse in T.Katur village.
