CM condoles death of farmer Anand Kumar

Mysuru: The Chief Minister condoled the death of farmer who attempted suicide in front of DC and said that such incidents should not happen in future.
The CM who is in the city to attend a programme appealed farmers not to take extreme steps. “No farmer should lose hope and end life,” he said.

Anand Kumar, a farmer from Angarekhanahalli village, who attempted suicide in front of the District Commisioner died here on Friday at Victoria Hospital. Reportedly he committed suicide due to delay in converting his farm land and DC officials issued notice to auction cashew grown in his farm at a much lower price.

Clarifying on Dalit CM issue, he said, “The reports that are making rounds on media about change in Chief Minister post is baseless. There is no difference in the party regarding Dalit CM and nobody is saying that a Dalit should not become CM.”

He also ruled out cabinet expansion due to drought in the state.

Responding to state government’s decision to appeal in Supreme Court against corruption cases of BJP leader Yeddyurappa, he said that there is no vendetta politics.

He also added that four ministers’ team has been formed to visit drought hit area. The ministers are  T B Jayachandra, Shrinivas Prasad, H K Pateel and R V Deshpande. They will visit the affected areas and solve the water woes on spot.
