CM: Centre plans to stop Rajiv Gandhi Awaz Yojana

Mysuru: “The Centre is trying to stop the Rajiv Gandhi Awaz Yojana and later implement the same scheme with a different name”, said Chief Minister Siddharamaiah on Saturday June 13.

Speaking to press persons at the Lalitha Mahal helipad in city, the CM said that it was being done with some political motives. However he has urged the Modi Government to release more funds undertowards the development of the State.

He said, “We have requested the central government to release funds under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) for the State to complete ongoing developmental projects and take up new one.”

He added that he has met three Ministers of the Modi Government on his recent visit to Delhi and urged them to release funds to speed up the developmental projects.

Karnataka has been in the forefront in the utilisation of JNNURM funds and has also received an award, he recalled.
