Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the kin of three soldiers from Karnataka who died in the deadly Siachen avalanche a week ago.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, the CM said that the mortal remains of Mysuru soldier Mahesh will be brought to the city today. Hence, the election campaigning for the ZP/TP elections in HD Kote has been cancelled.

He added that he would pay last respects to the soldier and console the bereaved family members.

He also expressed hope that the Congress party would win maximum seats in the Mysuru ZP elections.
