City police begin ‘Operation Chamundi’ to curb illegal activities

Mysuru: The Mysuru city police have started ‘Operation Chamundi’ to curb illegal activities in the vicinity of Chamundi hills after several complaints were received by them from different quarters, said City Police Commissioner Dr.Subramanyeshwar Rao.

Following this, police personnel were seen checking vehicles on January 19 at several places including Tavarekatte,Lalith Mahal Junction, foothills of Chamundi,Uttanhalli road and Devinavana gate.

On the very first day police registered 348 cases of traffic violations and collected Rs 37,300 as penalty. The operation will continue further, confirmed Dr Rao.
