Christian Forum discusses major issues affecting community

Mysuru: To discuss issues affecting the Christian community, the Mysore Zone of Karnataka Christians United Forum for Human Rights met at St. Bartholomew’s Community Centre in city on Nov. 27.

How to be more involved in the development of society (ecological, environmental and cleanliness including Swachh Bharat); How to play a more active role in politics and government issues; How to unite the Christian community in fulfilling the mission and life of Christ in daily life and to present Christmas in a real and meaningful way during this upcoming season were the issues discussed.

The meeting was led by the Bishop of Mysore, Rt. Rev. Dr. Thomas Antony Vazhapilly, President of the Forum; Rev. Devakumar, Vice-President of the Forum; Pastor Jaji Cheeran, Treasurer; Pastor Timothy John, Secretary and Executive Members Sunil and Adish Sagar.

Sixty delegates attended the gathering along with the leadership team. The Forum meets thrice a year to discuss issues which affect the rights and development of the Christian community uniting leaders from various groups and denominations to form one voice.
