Mysore: A couple from the city, who were into chit fund business, have reportedly fled the city after cheating a number of investors to the tune of lakhs of rupees.
K.P. Keshava, a mechanic attached to KSRTC Depot at Kuvempunagar and his wife V. Nayana are the couple who have gone missing after vacating their house in Sharadadevinagar overnight.
Nayana is said to be running a ready made dress store named ‘Joshitha Selection‘ at Sharadadevinagar.
The couple was running chit fund business in Sharadadevinagar for the past 10 years and had gained confidence of the people by lending hand loans to those who were in need. Several people used to pay monthly instalments in the chit fund scheme run by Keshava and Nayana couple, who, after collecting nearly Rs. 50 lakh from the scheme investors, reportedly fled the city after vacating their house overnight.
The matter came to light, when some of the investors who went to the house to collect their chit fund money on Sep. 29, it is learnt.
The Sarawathipuram who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
