Chamarajanagar: The ‘Subhahu’ application was launched by Sharath Chandra, Inspector General of Police (IGP), southern range, in the District Superintendent of Police auditorium, here on Saturday, January 26.
This app is used to notify the police department whether or not the concerned police have addressed the complainant and undertaken an investigation.
After the launch, IGP Sharath Chandra said, “The pilot launch of this app was initiated in February 2018 in Gundlupet, Chamarajanagar, Kolegala, and other police station jurisdiction. This app had helped in identifying a number of theft cases. Hence this app will now be used in its fullest form throughout the district.”
He said that this app shall be downloaded by every individual as the police too will be undergoing the same process.
“Along with app comes a QR Code for each house. Once the police personnel reach the spot and investigate, they shall scan the QR Code on their device, which will help the department notify that the concerned police personnel has conducted the investigation,” he added.
The IGP said that the app will be used by the higher officials, inspectors and also control room, which would help in assessing the situation with accurate information during night times.
Sharath Chandra said, “This app has already shown results and people have found this app useful.”
“Around six beat facilities are already initiated with 15-20 QR Code. In coming days houses in Hanur, Yalandur, Santhemarahalli, and Terakanambi villages will also be coming under this system”, he added.
He also said that if people found any suspicious activities, they could upload the photographs on the app to avoid any untoward situations.
Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Kumar said, “Earlier the beat officers used to carry log books to put in their signature confirming the case to be attended. Now that the ‘Subhahu’ app is launched, this system can be excluded.”
Additional Superintendent of Police Geetha Prasanna, DySP Jayakumar, and other staff was present during the launch of the app.
