Chamarajanagar: A girl student from Saagade village of the Chamarajanagar district, committed suicide since her parents were unable to buy her a smartphone so she could attend online classes.

According to a report by TOI, the Class X student consumed poison late on Monday night.

An unnatural death report was filed by the Chamarajanagar Rural Police in this regard.

The girl’s body was handed over to the family after a post-mortem was conducted at the district hospital.
