Chamarajanagara: Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Asistang Executive Engineer (AEE) Santhosh visited the lake which was found to be muddy at the foot of Himavad Gopalaswamy Hill in the Taluk.
ZP AEE Santhosh, who isnpected the lake along with farmer leaders on the occasion, informed that Hirikere has been included in the Integrated Development Scheme and the lake will be fully developed.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the farmers who own land in the vicinity of the lake are carrying vegetables and other commodities in bulk using vehicles and in excess of the stipulated quantity during the rains. A letter has also been written to identify the road in this regard and as soon as the encroached land is cleared, a road will be constructed and vehicles will be allowed to ply on that route, he said.
