Chamarajanagara: In a rare incident, a wild elephant has given birth to twin calves at  Murkere Dari in Bandipura Forest Range under Bandipura Tiger reserve.

It is not known yet as to when the  elephant  gave birth to the calvae. Forest officials said that elephant might have had delivery 4 to 5 days back.

Elephants delivers once in two years. But it is very rare they give birth to two calves at a time. The officials said that mother and calves are healthy.
