Chamarajanagara: A Juvenile Court in the City sentenced a young man to 7 years of rigorous imprisonment for sexually assaulting a school girl on the pretext that he was in love with her.

The accused was identified as Puttaraju of Mariala Village of Chamarajanagara Taluk. The accused befriended a 13-year-old minor girl in the year 2017 and sexually assaulted her by promising her marriage. The parents filed a complaint with Chamarajanagara Rural Police Station regarding the sexual assault.

The Juvenile Justice Court heard the case and sentenced the accused to 7 years of rigorous imprisonment and also imposed a fine of Rs. 5,000.
