Chamarajanagar: A grand Kendotsava is celebrated every year in the premises of the Maramma Temple in front of the mosque at Talavadi in Tamil Nadu adjoining the District.
Similarly, this year’s Kendotsava was held in a grand manner on Thursday March 9.
Shivanna, the priest of Maramma Temple, a village deity in Talavadi, inaugurated the kendotsava by kenda hayu tradition. Thousands of people from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu participated in the grand Kendotsava held at Talavadi and witnessed the kendotsava to celebrate harmony.
On night of Wednesday March 8, religious rituals were performed for the Kendotsava and the fire was also lit at night. The Temple was surrounded by electric lights. On Thursday, on the occasion of Kendotsava, the entire Talavadi was decked up with toranas. In the morning, when priest Shivanna flagged off the festival, there was a thrill among the thousands of devotees who had gathered around.
