Chamarajanagara: Farmer leaders staged agitation against the Forest Department officials for trying to evict the farmer leaders of Budagatte Doddi near Jageri in Kollegala Taluk of the District on Thursday December 8.
Farmer leaders from various villages of the Taluk have come to the City. Raising slogans against the Government, they gathered near the statue of B. R. Ambedkar and reached the office of the Deputy Conservator of Forests through Dr. Ambedkar, Dr. Rajkumar Road, IB Road and RMC Road.
Speaking on the occasion, Farmers’ Association State President Badagalapura Nagendra alleged that DFO Santhosh had betrayed the farmers by not listening to the issue. The Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai will visit Hanur Taluk on Monday December 12 and thousands of farmers will sit on a dharna to resolve the issue.
