Mysore: After a brief lull, two mobike-borne miscreants, yesterday managed to snatch a part of a gold chain from a woman who was walking on a street in Siddharthanagar in broad day light.

The robbed woman who was on a walk near her home at the time of the incident has been identified as Dakshayini. However, the 42-year-old woman managed to hold on to a part of her gold chain when mobike-borne miscreants pounced on her to snatch her chain.

Police said that all efforts by passersby to nab the miscreants on hearing the screams of Dakshayini proved futile as miscreants managed to escape even after the rider losing his helmet due to the impact of a subsequent fall.

City Police Commissioner Dr. M.A. Saleem, DCP A.N. Rajanna, Nazarbad Inspector K.C. Poovaiah visited the spot and conducted a mahajar before registering a case.
