Cauvery dispute: D K Shivakumar urges people not to lose hope with folded hands

Mysuru: State energy minister D K Shivakumar has assured the people of Karnataka that whatever be the order from the Supreme Court regarding the Cauvery water sharing, the state government will take action in all the legal ways possible. He urged the public not to lose hope and patience in this regard.

Speaking to media persons, Shivakumar with folded hands requested the people of the state not to take law into their hands during protests. “Do not lose patience while carrying out protests. Public property should not be destroyed. Do not use children during the protests. The government is committed to protect the interests of farmers and people in Cauvery basin,” he said.

He further added that 2008 vacant posts in Chescom will be filled within four months.
