Bonded Child Laborers Rescued in Maddur

Maddur: Mandya district child helpline rescued 2 bonded child laborers on Wednesday September 11.
Seventeen-year-old Sanju and three-year-old Santosh, children of Nepali couple Bahadur and Dhanalaxmi, who were working as bonded laborers in a poultry farm located in Anedoddy village, near here. 

The poultry farm owner Vijendra was believed to be oppressing the child laborers by employing them in his farm.

The circle inspector Prakash led child helpline activists Shubha, Rames and Radhamani, child rescue department officer Dr Divakar rescued these two child laborers.

Meanwhile, the poultry farm owner Vijendra said that Jayabahaddur and family arrived at his farm 15 days ago and said that they were destitute and need work to sustain the family.  He has paid Rs 7,500 as their wages and not employed their children as bonded laborers, clarified Vijendra.
The local police registered a case in this regard and housed Bahadur couple and their children in state-run accommodation.
