‘Investors may think twice before investing in Karnataka’

“Karnataka always rightly climbed the ladder as investor-friendly state particularly Bengaluru is internationally recognised in the map of IT. If the state capital is facing law and order problem and police fail to take action against the culprits, the investors may think twice before investing in Karnataka. So is the case in Mangaluru killing. None of them has been arrested by police. Even members of parliament refused to attend peace meeting due to lack of action by the police”, she said.

‘Hopes on a slew of FDI reforms unveiled by the government in 2016’

“Demonetisation will not slow down FDI. The government expects a high momentum of FDI in 2016-17 more than the last fiscal”, Sitharaman.

The existing taxes have been compiled in GST and no new taxes added, claimed Sitharaman. “Earlier there were 17 different taxes and 23 cess, now it has been made easy and one need not pay different taxes thus making it easy for them. Now these taxes have been clubbed together under GST. Those having any doubt on GST can get it clarified by going through the social media or by calling through toll free numbers available round the clock”, she said.

Nirmala Sitharam, during her stay in Mysuru also visited Software Paradigms where more than 200 employees donated blood voluntarily. “I came to know that many dengue cases have been reported in the district. It’s really a good gesture by the employees to donate blood during this period.”

Former minister Suresh Kumar, Member of Parliament Pratap Simha and BJP City President Dr. B H Manjunath were also present.
