Mysuru: The BJP has announced a statewide protest on February 20 and threatened to expose the “Congress misrule in state for the past three and half years.”

Addressing media persons, BJP district President Dr Manjunath said, “Considering the amount of corruption and various scams by the state government, the remaining one and half years before the next Assembly election in 2018 is not enough to expose the party. We have decided to bring all the misdeeds committed by the party in front of public. BJP will be holding protests in all the districts in the state on February 20 with the participation of hundreds of party volunteers along with the party leaders. A protest would also be held in front of the DC office in the city following which a memorandum would be submitted to the Deputy Commissioner.”

Commenting on Yeddyurappa’s allegation that Siddaramaiah gave Rs 1,000 Crore to the Congress High Command, former minister S A Ramadas questioned the morality of Siddaramaiah and the Congress. “It is unfortunate that a person who promised transparent governance has been doing this to save his chair,” added Ramadas. He also accused Siddaramaiah of protecting Ramesh Jarkiholi despite the I-T raid unearthing unaccounted property worth Rs 162 Crore. “For the past three and half years, there is zero development across the state. The Congress workers including the ministers are busy indulging in corrupt practices and have no time to take up developmental works”, added Ramadas.
