BJP Raitha Morcha stages ‘Day of Anger’ protest

Mysore : The BJP Raitha Morcha activists of Mysore Region staged a ‘Day of Anger’ protest in front of the Railway Station here on February 7, Friday demanding fulfilment of several of their longstanding demands  including  implementation of the Swaminathan Commission Report.

Farmers from Mandya, Hassan and Chamrajnagar districts who had participated in the protest have urged the government to stop giving assurances  on reopening of the Sri Rama Co-operative Sugar Factory at Chunchanakatte, installation of weighing machine in front of Banneri Amman Sugar Factory  etc and instead act at the earliest.

The agitators also demanded reduction in fertilizer prices and suitable support price for sugarcane, paddy,  groundnut, cotton and tobacco crops.

Hemanth Kumar, District BJP President, Mahendra, State Raitha Morcha Vice President, Jogi Gowda, Secretary and other leaders participated in the protest.
